Weird But True Facts About Technology

Weird But True Facts About Technology

It is definitely true that technology is all about science. The work system of the products of technology is based only on scientific facts. Yet there are some facts that sound absolutely weird, but these are absolutely true.

  1. The ink of a printer can be saved by the changing of the fonts- it sounds weird but is absolutely true. The reason behind it is that the software provides you many types of font. We use different fonts for different purpose to decorate, to embellish, and to decode. But it is proved that if you are using a font that is a bit lighter than the other fonts it will use a lighter effect or stroke and the printer will have to use less ink than it uses on any heavier font. The theory is based on the fact that if you are using an inkjet printer. Inkjet printer uses the old type of cartridges. Unlike the ink pots or the laser printer the inkjet printer can save ten percent ink if you use a lighter font.
  2. Even before the World Wide Web was created the email system did exist- nowadays no one can think  of writing an email of just one line. And it is an easy way to connect with each other. But at the earlier age it was not an easy job. It took a computer, a rotary telephone and the database was consisted of only numbers. The computer and the rotary telephone were to be connected with a system called micro net. There was no existence of World Wide Web and that is why there were no URLs to depend on. The database was dependent upon the numbers. The number for the email system was 7776.
  3. The QWERTY system was introduced to slow down the fast types- there are actually two theories behind the introduction of QWERTY key pad. The first one does make sense. If someone is a fast type writer and type very fast, the system will be jammed. That is why the QWERTY key pad keeps the usual alphabets at a distance so that the writer will be slowed down and the keys will not be jammed.
Another reason is that the type writers voluntarily introduced the QWERTY key pad because it was easier for them to interpret the Morse code.
  4. Ninety percent of the currency of the world is digital- the money that anyone uses around the world to buy anything or for any kind of transaction has no hardware existence. The money or rather the digital money is stored in computer or hard drives. Only 8 percent money has physical appearance.
